There are so many articles similar to this in our collection. The truck had quite a huge impact on life.

It is amazing to see how heated the debate was between the "horse people" and the "truck people".

There is a large ad from this same period which we are restoring -

It has a large spread across the top: "GOOD HEAVENS, man - Don't buy another team of horses!" hahahah !

One of my favorite illustrations from right after WWI ... This took a lot of work to restore as it now appears here - it was terribly creased and wrinkled and the color was quite faded.

The more times change the more remains the same ...

When I first saw this in a periodical from around 100 years ago, it hit me so very funny. Perhapse because I remember pretending like that as a kid ... the real world would always eventually invade our make believe sphere ... *sigh*

Personally, I lean more toward Jefferson on the subject.

At least Jefferson believed more in the legislative power and not the executive. Even when Jefferson WAS the executive branch (President) - it didn't go to his head.

The 30 minute featurette on this subject is very cool - found on Volume 2 of American Liberty Magazine DVD disc.
